Can't Stop is the most recent song by the band and it has completely shattered the expectations of the group, becoming the number 5 most listened to song this month as of 18/12/24. It's refinement of the previously established style has made it a modern classic among fans.
Fighting Gold had more messaging in it than any song that came before, focussing on the problems with capitalism but it still managed to maintain the more playful 90s aesthetic of the previous 3 songs made by the group and it proved to still be popular, reaching 200,000 Spotify plays in 1.5 months.
Killing Two Birds is when the band really
started taking off, reaching 100,000 listens
on Spotify within 2 months. The colour schemes and attire of the artists were meant to be more 70s inspired this time with all the 90s props being used to juxtapose the time periods.
One Winged Angel was The Rubber Bands' second song in 2023 and it was clearly when they started creating their identity of 90s inspired more surreal rock music, incorporating camcorder footage into the music video
Sneakman in 2023 was the first song made by The Rubber Bands and is a bit different from the rest as the band hadn't yet created an identity. However, it did contain some 90s internet influences which have continued to appear in the band's works.
Introduction to the group
The Rubber Bands was created on the idea of wanting to have fun making music. We didn't really have any particular messages to communicate with our music when we started the band so we just decided to play anyway. If we weren't having fun creating our music then we'd stop and try a different idea but luckily that hasn't happened and likely won't happen. Our first song was made on 24th May 2023 and we're so happy that our audience have continued to listen throughout these two years despite our slow output!
